Bloodstained Beta Belongs in This World–for Backers, at Least

What is a beta?!

Koji Igarashi’s kickstarter darling and Castlevania spiritual successor Blodstained: Ritual of the Night is receiving its very own beta; so long as you back the project at the $60 or more level.

The kickstarter page doesn’t offer much in the way of specifics in regards to the beta, or when it will be available–at this time it is little more than a miserable pile of secrets. However, so long as you opt in for the PC version of the game after backing the project you will be eligible to participate in the Bloodstained beta. Details for the upcoming beta are listed on the kickstarter as follows:

  • Get a chance to play early builds of the game.
  • Help the development team squash bugs and make the best Igavania possible.
  • See the game’s development from a different perspective.
  • Provide valuable feedback.

Igarashi is perhaps most famous for serving as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night‘s director. Following his departure from Konami, the kickstarter for Bloodstained was created in a bid to gain awareness for the game, as well as prove an audience for this type of game exists. Judging by the amount of humans that wished to pay tribute to Bloodstained, and the fact that it is sitting pretty at around 2.5 million dollars at the time of this writing, it is safe to say such an audience is alive and well.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be coming at some point in the future to the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. It is being developed by Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates, the studio behind Mighty No. 9.

Several of Twinfinite's staff likely contributed heavily to this article, so that's why this byline is set. You can find out more about our colorful cast of personnel over in the The Team page on the site.
