The time is almost upon us. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for preload before it’s upcoming worldwide release of May 19 so those who’ve purchased the game digitally are beginning to download their copy ready for the start of a new adventure with Geralt. Digital releases are often staggered around the world, but not in the case of The Witcher 3.
It was confirmed via GameSpot this weekend that the game will unlocked worldwide at 1AM CET, that being 1AM in Poland. There’s a problem there though. It isn’t always easy to work out exactly when a game will unlock even if you’ve got the exact moment in another timezone. In light of this, we’ve calculated exactly what time The Witcher 3 will become available in different regions of the world.
Players in the majority of Europe will find that their game unlocks at 1am on the 19th, with players in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland being able to play the game at the stroke of midnight. In the United States, and the American continent as a whole, The Witcher 3 actually becomes available on May 18. Players on the East Coast of America will find that they’re able to play The Witcher 3 at 17:00 local time on May 18, with the West Coast being ushered into the game at 16:00 on the same day.
Those in the same timezone as Brazil will find that they can access CD Projekt Red’s latest at 20:00 on the Monday while over in Australia those in Melbourne will wake up to it being open to play on the 19th at 9AM.
Depending on where you live, it could mean that picking up a retail copy will get you into the game a little earlier than those who prefer to download their software, while in others those who’ve purchased the game digitially are able to access the game before even players at midnight launch events.
If you are planning to purchase The Witcher 3, take note of these times and use them when considered how you’ll be buying the game as to get your hands on the title as soon as possible.
