Videogame development is a difficult task. With deadlines looming, gauging public reception, and making sure you have a product that can stand against the opposition it can become increasingly hectic. Sometimes things get a little too unwieldy, and this is when delays hit. At times the delay is no more than a couple of weeks or perhaps a month. But in 2014 it seemed like things got a bit too out of hand.
In 2013 there were quite a few games announced for this year. Games that had many fans excited largely due to the brand new hardware they wanted to put to the test. Unfortunately a large number of those games got delayed until next year. It was honestly amazing that so many games actually came out this year at all with the amount of titles that publishers and developers just couldn’t make the cut.
Here is a quick look at some of the most anticipated titles that were given a release date or window for this year. If something got delayed within the year, such as Dragon Age: Inquisition, it will not be included. Only those games that will not see the light of day until 2015 or later qualify.
