GameStop is revamping their trade-in system in an effort to better satisfy its customers.
Beginning on August 18th, GameStop will eliminate the numerous promotional offers that inundate the company’s trade-in structure and offer a simple flat-rate for your used games. The only variance in the value of your trade-in is whether you want to receive the value in cash or in-store credit and whether or not you are a Power-Up Rewards member ($15/year).
No longer will you have to wait and plan your trade dump. GameStop will no longer have promotional offers and to compensate will increase the base trade-in value of all games by 20%. One of GameStop’s internal documents reads “With this program, we will not have complex multi-tiered trade promotions for the associates to remember and less math for the customer to understand what they are getting for their games.”
Think this new system is more enticing? Are you excited to trade in your games for 20% more or are you still jaded by GameStop’s trade in history?
