The dreadful summer video game drought is slowly coming to its end and the world is finally going to be seeing brand new releases on store shelves and in digital carts in no time. But as always, there are going to be games that stand out above the rest as the most anticipated–whether it be because people want to see if it fails or because they’ve missed being a part of a franchise that had grown a little stale through the years. And now with the sudden influx of games upon us, it’s time to discuss the 5 games that everyone should be looking forward to this Fall.
5. Assassin’s Creed Rogue
Finally, an Assassin’s Creed game that doesn’t feel like it’s going to be rehashing the same formula that has plagued every Assassin’s Creed game since Assassin’s Creed II. Rogue promises to tell the tale of a lone assassin working against the Brotherhood that has provided the series with its main characters from the beginning. An assassin who is possibly employed by the templars and who may also just be using them to his own advantage? Yes, please.
I know that Assassin’s Creed’s journey to the French Revolution this fall is probably more anticipated as it is made-for and exclusive-to next generation consoles, but there’s something about playing against hype that sounds oddly refreshing from a franchise that hasn’t received a radical face-lift in a while.
