It’s hardly an overstatement to say that Spec Ops: The Line is a beloved game around the Twinfinite office. Case in point; as we were deliberating over our picks for Game of the Year in 2012, this game began as a dark horse candidate, slowly transformed into a frontrunner, and damn near ended up taking the title from such heavy hitters as Mass Effect 3, Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It’s been a couple of years since that game dropped, and we’ve been eagerly waiting to see what Yager Development comes up with as a follow-up. As it turns out, we won’t have to wait much longer to see what’s up with them, because they revealed today on their Twitter account that they’re going to be showing off their newest game at E3 next week.
At this point, all that’s really known about the project is that it’s being built for the current systems and that it’s using the Unreal Engine 4, and that it’s a new IP. Thanks to the amazing job Yager did with Spec Ops: The Line, they’ve definitely earned a spot in the bright lights at E3 with this mysterious new game.
