The Division's 2015 Release Date Is "Optimistic" Says Source

Last week, it was announced that Ubisoft’s ambitious Tom Clancy third-person shooter, The Division, was being delayed to 2015. Now a source at Massive tells Gamereactor that date is “ambitious”:

We’ve been given increased resources, we’re hiring lots at the moment and are given a lot of help from other Ubisoft teams which is going to be needed if we are to deliver a finished game by next fall. Sadly I still think that the date is a tad bit optimistic as we still don’t have a functioning game and still have massive problems making our multiplayer component work at the concept stage.

While delays and underestimation of cost is nothing new, it’s interesting to see how dedicated Ubisoft are to getting The Division right. They saw how being ambitious doesn’t forgive a shoddy product in Battlefield 4‘s case, and are throwing time, money, and resources at the project to make sure it doesn’t suffer the same weak launch.
