In a recent interview with Siliconera, Reggie “The Regginator” Fils-Aime discussed a number of topics; the impact of petition on getting games released stateside (which is to say minimal) and even the future of many of Nintendo’s business plans in America moving forward.
However, one bombshell of a question was dropped during the discussion.
Eagle eyed Nintendo fans might have noticed that 2013 was not officially declared the Year of Luigi until February of this year. Siliconera asked if this meant that the year of Luigi ends with 2013 or if it rolls over into 2014 right from where it started. Reggie confirmed that yes, the Year of Luigi will continue just a little bit into 2014 with a few remaining events planned as well as special ceremonial items such as the official Year of Luigi wiimotes and 3DS models still being available in the early parts of the year.
Though 2013 might end, the Year of Luigi marches on, proud and green as the day Luigi was born. I was beginning to suffer a bit of seasonal depression at the thought of having only one more month left to say “The Year of Luigi,” but thankfully, it looks like we get at least one more bonus month to do so.
Luigi truly is smiling down on us today.
