Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics Are Now Free On Good Old Games

Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics Are Now Free On Good Old Games

In the next installment of what we might as well call “Fallout week” for all the bloody news coming around for the franchise, Good Old Games has just made a lot of old school RPG fans very, very happy by making the original trilogy of Fallout games developed by Black Isle Studios and Micro Forte back in the 1990’s free for PC and Mac.

Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics as released by GOG also come with a metric shit-ton of extras, including the “Fallout bible”, an extensive guide to the 50’s influenced world of the Fallout universe, the original soundtracks for each game, avatars, a reference card, artwork from the game, and wallpapers. Tactics, a departure for the series in that it focuses more so on tactical combat than the traditional RPG elements of the original two games, includes even more extras, including much more artwork, a bonus mission, and the rule book for Fallout: Warfare, a tabletop battle game included with pre-order copies from the original Tactics release.

Overall, it is a very cool release and one you should definitely check out if you get the chance, especially if you are a fan of the newer Bethesda/Obsidian games and haven’t gotten a taste of these isometric, turn based oldies-yet-goodies.

You can find the download links for each of the games here; Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics.
