Known most recently for his work doing design and promotional art for Bravely Default, longtime artist at Square, Akhiko Yoshida is leaving the company. Yoshida made the announcement in a Bravely Default artbook released in Japan today.
It’s not entirely clear what’s next for Yoshida in the future, but he has confirmed that he will continue his relationship with Square Enix working on the Bravely Default games for the time being.
It’s always sad to hear about artists moving from their jobs, especially when they have such a prolific track record. You may remember Yoshida’s work in games such as Tactics Ogre, Vagrant Story, and even Final Fantasy XII. Where ever Yoshida is headed next, we wish him luck down his career path.
