I originally played Cute Things Dying Violently on the Xbox and I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was a cheap bit of fun certainly, but fun it was. With the updated PC port still languishing in Steam Greenlight, some of the developers have decided to do something outside the box to boost ratings. One of those developers is ApathyWorks who has offered up their title for free on Desura.
The idea is that by creating a website like NotOnSteam.com, the developers will be able to focus selling their games at a discount as a means of hopefully promoting the game. If the game is successful in its bid for Greenlight, then they will offer up steam keys for whenever the game is released. In the meantime, check out Cute Things Dying Violently. It’s free.
