Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The latest installment in a popular series is going back to its roots, and taking us back to where it all began. Yawn. On the other hand, this is Batman we are talking about here so at the very least I’m intrigued.
Today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins. According to the press release, this game “introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City“. In addition to this, Arkham Origins will take place in an open-world Gotham City much like the second installment. The teaser is very brief, and consists of a fight scene between the titular hero and who appears to be Deathstroke. It admittedly looked pretty cool, but then again it was just a cutscene.
What I’m looking forward to seeing is how WB Games Montreal handles the series now that they have taken it over from Rocksteady. No pressure, guys.
The full trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins will be out on May 20th, and the game is scheduled for release on October 25th.
