[News] Anime News Round-Up

There was a lot of anime news this past week. So much so that rather than do one for each, I thought it more economical (read: lazy) to bundle them up together so that you’ll have your one stop anime news post. Hit the jump for this week’s new releases, announcement news, and random extras.

Well first off, as some you might have guessed, NIS America has release Vol. 1 and 2 of Umineko When They Cry. Better known Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, the series from the people that brought you the supernatural horror Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni brings you another horror series this time centering around the conflict of one family and a witch. Both come with hard cover art books with in depth info on the series. The blu-rays will cost $79.99 and $49.99 for Vol. 1 and 2 respectively.

Similarly NISA has announced that Natsume’s Book of Friends season 3 will be coming to the west March 2013. Included is an in-depth hardcover art book. the 2 Blu-ray/DVD hybrid set will set you back a cool $69.99

Well that’s enough for domestic news, now comes a few announcements from Japan.

Devil Survivor 2 Atlus’ apocalypse Pokemon game will be getting an anime from the same people who brought you the Persona 4:The Animation. I’m a bit surprised that they’ll be jumping past the first one and straight towards the second, bu they did begin with Persona 4 before moving on to Persona 3. Well either way I’m fairly hyped because this will allows me to finally experience the series as I haven’t played the second game and have yet to finish the first. The anime will be out sometimes next year and be sure to check out the (no audio) teaser above.

Similarly, another game will be getting an anime adaptation this time it’s Dangan Ronpa. This game for the PSP (and not released in the west) follows a group of top students from across the nation held hostage in a school and must solve mysteries in order to earn their freedom. Like a hybrid between Ace Attorney and Zero Escape. Luckily there is a reason Dangan Ronpa is so popular with a very original cast and macabre humor, I for one am excited to finally see this as an anime.

And that’s that, but before I leave have you seen this scene from a recent Girls Und Panzer? Apparently it was cut from the stream on CrunchyRoll. It’s pretty amazing to be perfectly honest with you.

Several of Twinfinite's staff likely contributed heavily to this article, so that's why this byline is set. You can find out more about our colorful cast of personnel over in the The Team page on the site.
