I had the opportunity to meet with Harrison Pink, lead designer for The Walking Dead: Episode 3 at Pax, and he was gracious enough to answer a few questions for us. He went into detail about the process of writing each episode, the motivation behind making a story-based game series based on the Walking Dead, and how they stayed true to the source material.
I have tried to keep this interview spoiler-free. Personally, I was trying to avoid spoiling Episode 3 even for myself, as I will be waiting until November so that I can play the game with my girlfriend (if you haven’t tried playing the game with two people on the couch, I’d really encourage you to give it a try).
I’ll also take this opportunity to say that the TellTale PR crew are some of the nicest, most helpful PR representatives you will find at a game convention. They are just as excited about the games as we are, and they are extremely gracious to their fans. Although I spoke a bit slowly, I think that we got a lot of insight into these games- fans of the series will really enjoy what he has to say. If anyone is interested in a written transcript of the interview, let me know and I’ll write one up.
