[News] New Trailer for Nippon Ichi’s 1st 20th Anniversary Project

The God and Fate Revolution Paradox (aka Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox or if you have been practicing, 神様と運命革命のパラドクス) is the new game from Disgaea Team for NIS’s 20th Anniversary Project.  This will be the first of many releases from NIS for this event.  You can see the hot new trailer below, but it’s really just a teaser for the July 19th reveal.  You get your voice actors and characters represented, but I’m not sure it will sway many of you in to buying this just off of a trailer alone.

So instead of trying to hype you on a sampler, I thought I would sit down and explain why this game has the potential to be awesome even though you really have nothing to go on with this trailer.

First off, this is Disagea Team.  Not Prinny Team. Not Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman (or whatever they changed it to). This is Disgaea Team. Disgaea Team is the group responsible for some of the best Strategy RPGs of the past decade. Obviously Disgaea is on that list, but what makes this team so interesting is what happens when you break them away from Disgaea.  Games like Zettai Hero Project, Phantom Brave and Soul Nomad.  Great games that took an established formula and did something different.

If it is any indicator, The God and Fate Revolution Paradox will be an RPG for the PSV. It isn’t likely that the game will lose some of that technical touch the team is known for so I’m sure this will have some familiar Strategy RPG sensibilities.  However, this is once again the team breaking out and working with something different.  They have a new artist and console to work with, so this gives them flexibility to make something unique.  This being the 20th Anniversary means this game will not only get some decent advertising, but it will also focus the game on putting out a quality that represents the many years NIS has been around.

Finally, you should get hype because it is a game guaranteed to get a localization. So many titles (RPGs in particular) stay in Japan these days.  This is coming and if I can’t get you excited with my rant, watch the trailer below and get a bit more psyched.
