Chances are that if you’ve playing video games for any period of time that you’re familiar with Nintendo’s most famous mascot, Mario. This portly plumber has saved Princess Peach, the world, a couple of galaxies, an island, and more over the past few decades and gamers everywhere love him for it. Whether it’s while playing one of his genre-defining platformers, getting into a bit of tennis, or just cruising around a race track, it’s difficult not to view this fellow as a hero.
However, when you step back and take a look at everything, Mario’s kind of a jerk. Don’t believe us? Take a look at these times where he totally proved it.

That time he invited Princess Peach’s kidnapper to a party… 14 times.

He drops penguins off of cliffs. Well… you control him, but he doesn’t make any effort to stop you.
He murders a ton of Goombas and Koopas. We get that their boss is a kidnapper, but they’re just trying to make a living.
Every single block he breaks is a frozen Mushroom Kingdom citizen.
He punches Yoshi in the back of the head to get him to attack.

If you've played Super Mario Bros. 2, you're aware that it was nothing like the other games in the series. And you know where it all came from? This portly plumber's dreams. Next time, Mario, don't mess with our emotions and give us what we came for.
