Telltale Games is about to release the first episode of its Guardians of the Galaxy episodic series. Based on the Marvel comic book series, the plot will focus on the Guardians finding an artifact of great power. In true comic book fashion, however, an evil force covets the artifact to use for their own personal gain. Despite each wanting the artifact, the Guardians work together to protect it from the evil power and keep the galaxy safe.

While it would have been great if Telltale Games could have gotten the movie’s cast to voice the episodic series, the developer has brought together a great cast of voice actors to bring the characters to life. You’ll be able to check out episode one, titled Tangled Up in Blue, on April 18, 2017.

Voicing front-man Star-Lord is Scott Porter. Telltale Games fans may recognize his voice as Luke from The Walking Dead Season 2, or Lukas in Minecraft: Story Mode. Porter has also had a number of acting credits in TV series including Scorpion as Tim Armstrong, and George Tucker in Hart of Dixie. He’s also due to voice Robin / Damian Wayne in next month’s Injustice 2.

The smart-talking Rocket Raccoon is brought to life in Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy series by industry legend Nolan North. Best known for voicing the Uncharted series’ Nathan Drake, North is sure to bring the same humorous energy to this role. North has also recently voiced Sergeant Forge in Halo Wars 2 and Remy Duvall in Mafia III. He also played Peter Hastings on the TV show Pretty Little Liars.

The elite combatant Gamora is being voiced by Emily O’Brien in Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy series. Though she hasn’t had a ton of voice acting credits in video games yet, you may recognize her voice from Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor in which she voiced Eryn. Other notable credits include her role as Jana Fisher/ Hawkes in TV series The Young and the Restless.

Everyone’s favorite talking tree, Groot, is voiced by Adam Harrington in Telltale’s series. Though you’ll like only hear him say three words and eight letters (and no, it’s not ‘I love you’) some fans may recognize his voice from past Telltale titles. Among others, Harrington has voiced Bigby Wolf in The Wolf Among Us, Andy St. John in The Walking Dead’s first season, and TorqueDawg in Minecraft: Story Mode. Harrington has an extensive list of credits, so chances are you may have heard him before and never even realized.

The final member of the Guardians of the Galaxy – Drax the Destroyer – is voiced by Brandon Paul Eells. His most notable credit was in 2014’s Watch Dogs where he voiced The Daves, as well as additional voices.

The Guardians’ opposition in the episodic series is none other than the power-hungry Thanos. He’s voiced by Jake Hart whose only previous video game credit was in GTA V as the local population. Hart has also had a number of small roles in TV series such as As the World Turns, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Blacklist.
