E3 2016: Every Microsoft Conference Announcement

Not bad, Microsoft. Not bad at all.

Microsoft started their show with a look at the new Xbox One S. The updated console will be 40% smaller and boast a larger hard drive, as well as other exciting changes.

Xbox Play Anywhere is Microsoft’s new cross=play system, allowing players on Xbox One and Windows 10 to play with each other. It will also allow players to save their game on one platform and continue on the other.

Next up was a brand new Gears 4 gameplay segment, helmed by Kate’s voice actress Laura Bailey. The segment showed off new weapons, new enemies, and even an old, grizzled friend.

Not to be forgotten, the very first special edition Xbox One Elite Controller is styled off of Gears 4.

General Raam, from the original Gears of War, joins other guest characters Rash (Battletoads) and The Arbiter (Halo series) in the new season of Killer Instinct.

Forza Horizon 3 was revealed in a stunning trailer that showed up social aspects as well as 4-player campaign co-op.

Last year Microsoft introduced ReCore, and now we’ve seen the first official gameplay. The main cast of characters was also shown off, including a gaggle of adorable robots.

With its release just a few months away, Final Fantasy XV was present on Microsoft’s stage with a brand new gameplay demo. This time Noctis and his buddies face off against the mighty Titan.

The Division: Underground will be launching later this month for the Xbox One, ahead of PS4 and PC. Underground is the first expansion for the latest hit Tom Clancy game, and will have randomly generated missions and deadly urban dungeons.

Battlefield 1

Xbox Live is getting several new updates to improve the social gaming experience including Xbox Live Clubs, Looking for Group, and Arena on Xbox Live.

Minecraft’s new “Friendly Update” is available today, and allows players across different platforms to play in each others’ worlds together.

Microsoft is offering players the chance to customize their own Xbox One controllers. You can choose your color scheme, have your gamer tag printed on it, and more. They boast 8 million ways to customize.

Inside – Playdead’s follow-up to the hugely successful Limbo – was introduced a couple years ago. Now, finally, the game is nearly ready to launch. It is so close to ready that it is launching on Xbox One later this month.

As with any good E3 press conference, Microsoft showed an indie sizzle real of ID@Xbox games hitting their console in the near future. Cuphead, Stardew Valley, and Outlast 2 are just a few of those many titles.

Compulsion Games Kickstarted their second title, We Happy Few, in 2015. The game is looking better than ever in the latest gameplay demo, which is good news for fans looking forward to playing it when it launches in July.

One of the most fun aspects of The Witcher III was the card game Gwent, and now CD Projekt Red has pulled the curtain back on a full standalone version of the game coming soon to Xbox One and PC.

Tekken 7 is hitting the Xbox One in 2017, and the latest trailer gave us a look at Heihachi and Street Fighter’s Akuma facing off.

Frank West is back on the scene in Dead Rising 4, coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 this winter. The reveal trailer features a blend of live-action and gameplay footage, and of course includes plenty of unique and exciting ways to mow down hordes of zombies.

Platinum Games founder Hideki Kamiya presented the latest gameplay footage for Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive Scalebound. Kamiya announced that the game will feature 4-player co-op, which was shown off in the gameplay trailer.

Rare’s latest and most ambitious title, Sea of Thieves, was lucky enough to have two separate videos shown. The first was a proper trailer, while the second showed off the gameplay in action for the first time.

Not to be outdone by Dead Rising 4, the other big zombie game of Microsoft’s show was State of Decay 2. We saw our first trailer for the title, which showed an emphasis on co-op survival and the ability to create bigger and better outposts than before.

The final game of Microsoft’s conference was the previously announced Halo Wars 2. The cinematic trailer presented was beautiful, and they even announced an open beta for the game that starts today.

The Xbox One S isn’t the only new addition to the Xbox One family. Project Scorpio boasts “true 4K gaming” and will allegedly be the “most powerful console ever.” The bold words come from Phil Spencer, who also revealed that the system will be ready for a holiday 2017 release.
