Bethesda has today released an update for the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM, adding motion controls and multiplayer party support, with a bunch of fixes and other improvements for good measure.

The news was shared via the Bethesda blog earlier today, detailing the full contents of today’s DOOM update on Switch. According to community manager Jason Leavey, the “much-requested” motion control option “allows you to utilize the built-in gyroscope of the Joy-Con for more precise aiming.” Motion control support can also be used fully or partially, allowing players to use the controller’s analog stick should they want a middle ground.

DOOM’s latest Switch update also adds multiplayer party support, allowing players to invite and join one another’s parties, making it easier to jump into the frantic action with friends. A fairly commonplace feature in today’s landscape, but a welcome one all the same.

In terms of other improvements, the latest update also ups the average resolution in some particularly poor-performing areas of the game, implements CPU optimizations, and adds Traditional Chinese language support, too. You can check out the list of fixes and the full patch notes for the game here.

DOOM is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Fe is a bit of a different title from what fans usually expect from publisher EA. Rather than being another massive blockbuster franchise or epic AAA title, Fe comes from a small indie developer known as Spoink Games. Fe places players in control of an adorable little fox-like creature as they explore a forest and help to push back the evil creatures that now plague the woodland. Along the way, players will meet all manner of different animals which, when you sing with them, can unlock new powers and abilities to help you traverse previously inaccessible areas of the forest.

What really stands out about Fe, though, is its art style. The game was clearly influenced by the dark and mysterious Nordic forests, and as such the color palette largely focuses on deep blues and mysterious purples to really help nail home the atmosphere as you embark on your adventure.

To give you an idea of just how great the game looks, we’ve compiled a bunch of screenshots from the time we’ve spent playing the game so far on PS4 Pro for you to check out.

Fe is also available right now on the PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

While the jury is still somewhat out in terms of how fun Fe is to play, it goes without saying that the game can look pretty fantastic with its moody and mysterious color palette. To celebrate the sheer beauty on show in the game, we’ve compiled a handful of screenshots that really show just how good this game looks.

One of the many, majestic creatures you’ll encounter in Fe.

So many trees to climb, so little time.

The beginning of your adventure in this picturesque forest.

The lighting and vivid colors contrasting against the dark give the woods a magical atmosphere.

Polyarc Games has today shared that its PlayStation VR adventure game, Moss, will release exclusively on the PS4’s virtual reality platform on Feb. 27.

The news comes via a post over on the PlayStation Blog, which follows the sneak peak provided by PlayStation Underground last week of the adorable mouse protagonist, Quill, and the adventure she finds herself on in the game.

Moss’ Feb. 27 release date announcement was also accompanied by the official launch trailer for the game, highlighting the mix of combat and platforming action players will have to prevail over if they’re to help Quill defeat the evil growing across the world. You can check out the trailer for yourself down below.

We were pretty impressed when we checked out Moss back at E3 last year, stating that it “is able to give credibility to the third-person genre in VR by crafting a title that is both as aesthetically beautiful and mechanically sound, with a main character this is captivating and charming to a point that you’ll want to pluck her out of the game and take her home in your pocket.” You can check out our full hands-on impressions here.

Moss will be available on PlayStation VR on Feb. 27.

Incredible, Tiny Details You Probably Didn’t Notice in Shadow of the Colossus Remake

The sheer size of the colossi you’re tasked with felling in Shadow of the Colossus make them pretty damn daunting foes. From a sprawling, hairy flying beast to a towering stone golem with a giant sword, let’s be real, you just wouldn’t hedge your bets on Wander to come out on top.

Though these majestic colossi looked great in the PS2 and PS3 versions, the PS4 remake takes it to a whole other level. Whether you’re watching the individual hairs on a beast’s back flap around in the wind, or watching as a fine dust and larger bits of crumbling debris fall from the lumbering stone warrior standing before you. You can even see signs of old-age and decay on your opponent’s too, be it worn and rusting metal, or cracks and crevices covering the surface of your stone advocate.

It might be pretty hard to appreciate the detail of the colossi as you’re being hurled around on their backs and Wander is holding on for dear life, but give photo mode a spin and you’ll begin to appreciate the tiny details that make them such memorable adversaries.

What’s New in Overwatch’s Year of the Dog Event? Everything You Need to Know

Overwatch, anniversary, savings, discounts, event, game of the year edition

Overwatch’s Year of the Dog event sees the return of the Capture the Flag mode that appeared during last year’s Chinese New Year event. Year of the Dog also brings an all-new competitive variant which, as you might expect, aims to offer a more competitive experience with placement matches, skill ratings tiers, competitive points, and all the rest.

Blizzard has made some gameplay changes to the event-only game mode as part of its inclusion in Year of the Dog. We’re gonna break it down for you real quick:

  • Flag pickup is now instantaneous, but once an enemy drops you, they won’t be able to pick up the flag for five seconds.
  • Flags return after 4 seconds.
  • Flag return is not interrupted by taking damage.
  • Mobility and invulnerability skills drop the flag.
  • Music plays while carrying the flag (how nice).
  • Sudden death will break ties at the end of a match.
  • When time runs out, the round starts over, the flags are moved closer to the center of the map, and the first team to capture wins.

There’s also a whole new map designed specifically for the mode, but we’ll get to that a bit later.

All of these Hoenn-based ‘mon will be added into the game as of tomorrow, Feb. 9 and will take over wild encounters until Feb. 13 to give you a better chance of nabbing one.

As we’ve seen with previous legendaries in Pokemon GO, Rayquaza will only be available by taking part in Raid Battles in Gyms near you. You’ll only have until March 16 to grab this one, so make sure you don’t miss out.

The blog post also teases that players “might see some different Pokemon in Raid Battles at your nearby Gym, and from hatched Eggs.” In order to give players the best chance of catching these Pokemon, Niantic also revealed that new special boxes will be available to purchase via the in-game store which include Raid Passes, Incubators, and Star Pieces as of tomorrow until Feb. 23.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices.

Nintendo has today announced that Fire Emblem Warriors’ Shadow Dragon DLC pack, which includes three new characters, new skills, History maps, and more, will hit the Nintendo Switch version on Feb. 14.

As you may have guessed from the DLC’s title, it’s pretty heavily based on the popular DS title, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. Navarre, Minerva, and Linde will be the three new characters joining Fire Emblem Warriors’ roster.

New skills, history maps, costumes, weapons, and weapon attributes, many of which hail from Shadow Dragon, will make up the rest of the DLC pack. You can check out the full breakdown of Shadow Dragon’s additions to Fire Emblem Warriors below:

  • New Skills: Lone Wolf, Quick Wit, and Minerva’s Iote’s Shield, which cancels any enemy effectiveness.
  • New History Maps: Princess Minerva Map, Knorda Market Map and the Brush in Teeth Map.
  • New Support Conversations
  • New Costumes: Lyn’s Swordmaster costume, as well as costumes for Marth, Caeda and Tiki.
  • New Armor Break Models
  • New Weapons: Include Caeda’s Wing Spear, Linde’s Aura, Navarre’s Wo Dao, Minerva’s Hauteclere, Tiki’s Divinestone and Anna’s Bow.
  • New Weapon Attributes: Include the ability to swap attack and defense, as well as inflicting additional damage against characters with the same or opposite gender.

Nintendo also confirmed today that a free content update will be made available on the same day, which will add new weapon skills, blessings, and raise the max level cap in the game.

The Shadow Dragon DLC pack is the second of three planned post-launch content releases for Fire Emblem Warriors. All three come as part of the season pass which is available for $19.99, or can be purchased individually for $8.99 each. An Awakening-based DLC pack will also make its way to Fire Emblem Warriors at some point in March 2018, though a specific date has yet to be announced.

Fire Emblem Warriors is available now on Nintendo Switch and 3DS.

Epic Games has just released the patch notes for Fortnite Battle Royale’s upcoming 2.4.2 update, revealing the crossbow as the silent weapon the developer has been teasing for quite some time now.

The crossbow will arrive as part of the update due to go live tomorrow, Feb. 8. It, as you may have guessed, will fire arrows, which is an unlimited ammo type that’ll make the crossbow an incredibly useful weapon to have at your disposal when you’re running low on rounds. It can be found both lying on the floor and from treasure chests, and comes in both Rare and Epic variants.

Fortnite battle royale, crossbow

Alongside the addition of the crossbow, update 2.4.2 makes a number of tweaks to existing weapons, and fixes a bunch of bugs. Shotgun headshot damaged has been raised to 200% from 150%, meanwhile the Scoped Assault Rifle is buffed to be 100% accurate when zoomed in, and no longer suffers from damage fall-off.

For any fans of the Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time mode currently available in Fortnite Battle Royale, there is a slight limitation introduced in the upcoming patch. You’ll no longer be able to play the mode in Duo or Squads mode, so if you want to check out the new changes to combat, you’ll need to head to the battle bus on your own.

The crossbow and the rest of the update’s changes are scheduled to roll out in Fortnite Battle Royale on Feb. 8.

Microsoft has today announced a number of other Sea of Thieves special edition Xbox One accessories that will accompany the controller revealed last month.

First up is a Seagate Sea of Thieves-themed 2TB external hard drive. Just like any other external hard drive, players will be able to install games and saved data onto the drive, freeing them of any limitations their internal drive was causing them. The drive comes in the same deep purple color, with a glowing blue skull emblazoned in the middle, a compass below it, and the Xbox logo in the top corner in gold. To sweeten the deal, the 2TB drive also comes with a month of Xbox Game Pass and a jewel-studded in-game weapon, too. This deep sea-themed drive will set you back $89.99 and will only be available in certain territories alongside the game’s release on March 20.

sea of thieves

The other two Sea of Thieves accessories joining the controller and external hard drive come in the form of two controller stands from Controller Gear. For $49.99, wannabe pirates can nab the pro charging stand from Feb. 19, which is made from the same material as your controller and offers a stylish way to charge and display your controller. Each one comes with a stand, battery cover, rechargeable battery, and six-foot power cord.

Alternatively, there’s if you’re battery needs are already satiated, you can just grab the stand itself for $14.99. No charging functionality, but it makes your Sea of Thieves special edition controller look mighty good all the same.

Sea of Thieves will release on PC and Xbox One on March 20.

Yesterday, we posted about Sega seemingly teasing something Puyo Puyo-related over on the Steam forums for a bunch of its games. Well, turns out that all of those ASCII clues were hinting that Puyo Puyo Tetris is making its way to PC at the end of the month.

The news comes via a reveal trailer posted to the Sega America YouTube channel earlier today (included below). The title blends the popular Puyo Puyo and Tetris gameplay together, as the name suggests, providing fast-paced and competitive-focused gameplay that’s great for multiplayer sessions. The PC port, releasing on Steam on Feb. 27, will include four-player competitive multiplayer, and both Japanese and English voiceover.

For those interested in picking up Puyo Puyo Tetris’ PC release, the game is available to pre-order now at 10% off. Doing so will also net you some wallpapers and avatars, too!

We were pretty big fans of Puyo Puyo Tetris when we checked it out on Nintendo Switch last year. It may not have the most interesting of stories, but the solid selection of multiplayer modes and compelling gameplay had us coming back for more. You can check out our full thoughts of the game on Nintendo Switch in our review here.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been on the Xbox One for almost a couple of months now, and following surpassing 4 million players, Microsoft has today announced a 1TB Xbox One S bundle will be made available later this month.

The news comes via Major Nelson, who revealed the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds 1TB bundle will be available as of Feb. 20 for $299.99. As you’d expect, you’ll get yourself a 1TB Xbox One S, a download code for PUBG, a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial, and a one-month Xbox Game Pass trial, too.

For those unfamiliar, PUBG throws 100 people onto an island and has them seek out the best armor and weapons while fighting it out to the death in an ever-shrinking play area.

While the battle royale title has finally seen its full release on PC, PUBG is still an early access title on the Xbox One family of consoles. It’s still a little rough around the edges while the developers continue working on it, but it’s certainly still playable and a great, adrenaline-filled experience in its current state.

Dying Light celebrates its three-year anniversary this February, and Techland today released a video to thank fans for their support, and give them an overview of the celebrations kicking off in the game throughout the month.

In the video, Techland highlights the importance of fans’ continued support to help turn Dying Light into an experience far larger than it initially was back when it released in 2015. To thank fans for sticking around for three years, Techland revealed that content drop three would arrive sometime this month, alongside an Undying Love community bounty event, significant in-game discounts, and weekly giveaways.

Most notably, however, was Techland’s quick reveal that it has “lots of Dying Light awesomeness to reveal in 2018.” Exactly what the developer is hinting at here remains to be seen. DLC? A sequel? Xbox One X/ PS4 Pro support? Who knows, but hopefully, it won’t be too long until we find out more.

Dying Light takes your typical zombie apocalypse experience and mixes it up with the inclusion of parkour traversal and a day/ night cycle that greatly affects how you take on missions and generally explore the world. You can check out our full review of the game here, and The Following expansion, here.

Monster Hunter: World’s worldwide shipping figures have been pretty huge, so it probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that it managed a second consecutive week atop the UK Games Charts for the week ending Feb. 3.

Newcomer EA Sports UFC 3 entered the charts in a respectable second, with Call of Duty: WWII, FIFA 18, and Grand Theft Auto V rounding out the top five best-selling games for the week in the UK. PS4 exclusive Dissidia Final Fantasy NT also released last week and debuted in ninth position. You can check out the full top 20 below.

  1. Monster Hunter: World
  2. EA Sports UFC 3
  3. Call of Duty: WWII
  4. FIFA 18
  5. Grand Theft Auto V
  6. Dragon Ball FighterZ
  7. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  8. Super Mario Odyssey
  9. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  11. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
  12. Gran Turismo: Sport
  13. Rocket League: Collector’s Edition
  14. Just Dance 2018
  15. Assassin’s Creed Origins
  16. Forza Horizon 3
  17. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  18. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  19. WWE 2K18
  20. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Siege

Just Dance 2018 and WWE 2K18 both climbed a considerable number of positions from the previous week to see them clinch a spot in the top 20. Just Dance 2018 rocketed up from 25, while WWE 2K18 climbed nine positions to just make it in at 19.

We were pretty big fans of Monster: Hunter World when we reviewed it last month, highlighting its solid combat and diverse locales as particular high-points. If you’re not a fan of a lot of grinding in games, though, it might not be the one for you. You can check out our full thoughts here.

Inner Space

Easiest Xbox One Achievements of January 2018

Inner Space is all about flying about inverted planets and uncovering the history of the Inverse, while also trying to find a safe means of escaping it. It’s a short and fairly calming experience, with vibrant colors filling your screen as you soar through the air or dive deep underwater.

All in all, Inner Space comes in at only a few hours long. If you want to get yourself all of the achievements that it has to offer, you may have to spend a couple of extra hours polishing things off. There are a few collectibles and airframes to take care of, but with plenty of guides available online already, these shouldn’t take you too long to clear up once you’ve finished the main story itself. Plus, all 1000 Gamerscore is split over just 14 achievements, so even if you don’t clear the full lot, it’ll be a nice boost all the same.

Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within – Episode 4

Easiest Xbox One Achievements of January 2018

We don’t need to go through the normal speel here of introducing Telltale Games to you achievement hunters. By now, it’s common knowledge that the story-driven experts over at Telltale love giving players a bunch of easy achievements and a healthy boost to their Gamerscore, and Batman: The Enemy Within is no different.

As per usual, all Bat-fans need to do is complete the episode and they’ll get all 200 Gamerscore that’s on offer. No decision-based achievements, no collectibles, nothing. Just enjoy the episode however you wish and the 200G will be yours. Plus, with the finale hopefully not too far off, you’ll be one step closer to having all of the achievements on offer from the game.

Sony will release a new PlayStation Gold wireless headset for the PS4 later this month, according to a post over on the PlayStation Blog.

Set to release “in the next few weeks” for $99.99 in the U.S, the revised Gold wireless headset retains many of the premium features present in the current version, while wrapping them up in a more sleek design. That means 7.1 virtual surround sound, augmented noise-cancelling hidden microphones, and over-ear cushions to make for more comfortable marathon sessions. You’ll be able to use the Headset Companion App on your PS4 to load custom audio modes specially designed to improve the audio in some of the biggest games on the system.

An included 3.5mm audio cable allows the Gold Headset to be compatible with PlayStation VR and other mobile devices. The blog post also mentioned that the revised design of the headset should also make it more comfortable to wear when using alongside PSVR, though specifics on these comfort improvements weren’t detailed.

Currently, Sony has yet to reveal exactly when this revised version of the PlayStation Gold wireless headset will go on sale. However, we do know that you should see them out and about in the wild by the end of February.

Shadow of the Colossus Remake

(PS4 – Feb. 6)

Best Games to Look Forward to in February 2018

shadow of the colossus ps4

Shadow of the Colossus is one of those games that really resonated with people when it originally released back in 2005 on the PS2. Since then, we’ve seen an HD remaster on the PS3 that addressed the unstable framerate which plagued the original release, as well as increasing its resolution. Still, fans have been clamoring for a full remake to bring this classic up to current generation standings. And that’s exactly what Bluepoint Studios has done.

The remake brings all of the serenity of this artistic adventure game, as well as its iconic Colossi-fighting action to the PS4. Get ready to revel in nostalgia, or experience it the best possible way for the first time. If you thought Agro’s majestic gallop across those sprawling green fields looked great on the PS2, just wait until you see it running at 4K on a PS4 Pro.

Though it still feels dated in some aspects, such as the way in which its camera and controls function, Shadow of the Colossus is still well-worth picking up whether it’s your first or fifth time embarking on this touching adventure.

5 Reasons Why a Digital-Only Future Would Be Awesome http://twinfinite.net/2018/02/reasons-digital-only-future-awesome/ http://twinfinite.net/2018/02/reasons-digital-only-future-awesome/#respond Thu, 01 Feb 2018 15:00:32 +0000 http://twinfinite.net/?p=328920 It won't be so bad, after all.

A Cheaper Way to Play

Games are an expensive hobby. There’s no denying that. Once you’ve taken into account the cost of purchasing the hardware, any additional accessories, the games themselves, and any subscriptions, you’re looking way above the initial price tag of the system itself. While some players have enough disposable income to get absolutely every new release that they want, not all of us are quite so lucky. Even so, doesn’t everyone want to save themselves a few extra bucks whenever they can?

A digital-only future has its own fair share of niggling issues that need to be resolved. Namely, the fact that fast internet speeds just aren’t available for everybody right now to facilitate it. Not without pissing off a lot of people, anyway. But it could have its fair share of perks, namely in passing some of the savings publishers make onto consumers by reducing the cost of games. We’ve already seen instances of digital games being priced lower than their physical counterparts, but by cutting out the middle-man retailers, costs can be cut. Whether this would actually happen is down to the discretion of the publishers, but just look at PC gaming, where titles tend to be significantly cheaper on the platform than their PS4 and Xbox One counterparts (other factors do play a part here, though).

Even so, there are still other ways the digital-only future can make gaming more affordable. We frequently see digital store sales slashing the prices of games, and if more money is being spent on these platforms, chances are we’d see these kinds of sales more often. Or… there’s always that subscription-based model that Xbox Game Pass is a prime example of, too.

Xbox One February 2018 Video Game Releases

Though in the past couple of years we’ve seen more and more developers opting to release their titles during the early winter months of January and February, they’re normally fairly quiet in comparison to the peak holiday months that came before them. February 2018 may not be the most stacked month for Xbox One releases we’ve seen so far, but it still has a number of titles that pique your interest.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is certainly a game you’ll want to keep your eye on. This is the first entry in the series that follows the current open world trend. Players will still take on thousands of enemies with twirling, wide-reaching badass attacks, but will have more freedom in between brawls to explore every nook and cranny of the world.

A week later, the Xbox One will also see the release of Konami’s Metal Gear Survive. While we found it difficult to overlook the tenuous links to the Metal Gear world, it’s a fairly enjoyable and deep zombie survival title all the same. Just be prepared for a messy UI experience if you do jump in.

In terms of smaller indie titles to keep you occupied on your Xbox One, the critically-acclaimed indie Owlboy will finally hit Microsoft’s system, and will be followed a few days later by EA’s intriguing title, Fe. In this latter title, players are dropped into a gorgeous, Nordic forest at night and are free to uncover the many side quests, secrets, and mystical creatures lurking within.

If Spring Is Still the Planned Release, Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Scaring Me http://twinfinite.net/2018/01/red-dead-redemption-2-spring-planned-release-worry/ http://twinfinite.net/2018/01/red-dead-redemption-2-spring-planned-release-worry/#respond Thu, 25 Jan 2018 18:41:38 +0000 http://twinfinite.net/?p=327256 It's awfully quiet out in the Wild West.

The post If Spring Is Still the Planned Release, Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Scaring Me appeared first on Twinfinite.

Ask players around the world what games they’re most looking forward to in 2018, and Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a common answer. Since its predecessor’s release back in 2010, fans have been clamoring for a sequel, To find out more about its iconic characters. To capture wild horses or to play a game of Five Finger Fillet to pass the time. Or just to have another reason to explore the boundless stretches of desert surrounding the bustling metropolis’ of the Wild West in the early 20th century. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the answer to almost all of this. Or, at least, from the very small glimpses of it we’ve seen so far, it looks set to be. But there’s something unsettling me.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed in May last year to Spring 2018. Then word came from a Take-Two shareholders call that the game would only release in the publisher’s 2019 fiscal year – meaning it would release sometime after April 1, 2018. That gives Red Dead Redemption 2 a brief, two-month period to coincide with both the Spring 2018, and the 2019 fiscal year window. This is where my concern lies, though. That’s only four months away. Four months until we’ll be busy exploring the nooks and crannies of the ambitious world Rockstar has laid before us, and appreciating the improvements since the original Red Dead Redemption back in 2010. But, for a game that’s possibly four months away, there’s a disturbing level of radio silence. Even for Rockstar, who has a tendency to keep its cards close to its chest.

Feeling that the lack of news emerging about Red Dead Redemption 2 was odd, I decided to investigate. Since its initial reveal back in October 2016, we’ve had a couple of cinematic trailers – that look good, don’t get me wrong – as well as some screenshots that accompanied the news of the Spring 2018 delay. That’s all that we’ve seen of one of the biggest games of 2018 due to release in a matter of months. No gameplay trailer, no word of Red Dead Online (or if it’s even a thing, though we’re sure it will be), and no hands-on coverage.

On its own, this wouldn’t necessarily be the strangest thing to happen. Rockstar can share as much or as little information as it wants on Red Dead Redemption 2, and chances are fans of the developer would buy it anyway. But, even with Grand Theft Auto V – a game that also suffered a number of delays – we’d seen far more by the time its launch was just a matter of months away.

In the four months prior to GTA V’s original release on the Xbox 360 and PS3, we’d seen character trailers, screenshots, received a Q&A on the website, received another gameplay trailer, and several batches of further screenshots. Even over a year before the game hit store shelves, there were several drops of screenshots for the game within days of each other. Sure, some things were left until the last minute, such as the unveiling of GTA Online – and even then, the popular heists didn’t hit their initial release date – but it feels like Rockstar’s leaving a lot until the last minute if Red Dead Redemption 2 really is set for a Spring 2018 release window.

Reluctant to believe that this radio silence was abnormal, I delved into the internet archives searching for news on the original Red Dead Redemption. Though the difference in the volume of news wasn’t quite as stark, outlets were getting hands-on time with the game four months prior to its release, allowing valuable gameplay details to be shared with the loyal fanbase.

Be it through gameplay trailers, screenshots, or giving critics hands-on time with the upcoming title, the bottom line is despite Rockstar tending to keep things fairly under wraps, we’d still seen more of its two biggest previous titles than we have of Red Dead Redemption 2 by this point.

This silence surrounding Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t fill me with much hope for the developer meeting the Spring 2018 release window, and signposts, at least to me, that a further delay could be on the table. Rockstar has never been a studio to rush something out, as evidenced by the delay for Red Dead Redemption, two for GTA V, and the aforementioned delay to heists in GTA Online. Considering Red Dead Redemption 2’s already been pushed back froram an original Fall 2017 release window, it doesn’t look like the studio’s stance regarding delays in the name of quality has changed in recent years.

Could all of this silence be simply because Red Dead isn’t as giant as the juggernaut that is the Grand Theft Auto series? Perhaps. Do I hope this is the case and that we’ll all be wreaking havoc in an online Wild West together by the end of May? You bet your lasso I do, but I can’t shake that feeling that another delay is inevitable in the coming months.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though. No Red Dead Redemption fan would want its sequel to be rushed out before it was perfectly ready. Of course, seeing it pushed back further into the year would be disappointing, but looking at Rockstar’s track record of delays and the current radio silence enveloping Red Dead Redemption 2, would it really be surprising?
