Game Pass

New Game Pass Content Includes Shadow of Mordor & We Happy Few

Microsoft has announced a new batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, headlined by the open world RPG, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, which is joined by Saints Row: The Third, The Lego Movie Videogame, and We Happy Few.

Shadow of Mordor was one of 2014’s standout games, acclaimed for its Nemesis boss system, which randomly creates personalities for Orc enemies depending on combat encounters. Its sequel, Shadow of War, launched last year but didn’t quite hit the same critical highs.

The most recent game of the four is We Happy Few, Compulsion Games’ sandbox RPG/survival game set in a whacky 60s-inspired British dystopia, whose inhabitants take drugs to keep themselves happy. It’s available Jan. 17.

The Lego Movie Videogame arrival on Game Pass is nicely timed, given that its sequel launches next month, Feb. 7.

The latest games on the service join an earlier batch, comprised of Absolver, Ark: Survival Evolved, Just Cause 3, and Life is Strange 2’s first chapter, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which were added to the library earlier this month.

Xbox Game Pass now consists of over 200 titles, available to subscribers for $9.99 a month. If you haven’t yet signed up, your first month is just a $1.

New Games:

  • We Happy Few – Jan. 17
  • The Lego Movie Videogame – Jan. 17
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor – Jan. 24
  • Saints Row: The Third – Jan. 24

We’ll likely be adding Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor to our list of best Game Pass games.
