PS PLUS FREE GAMES PREDICTIONS FOR MAY 2018

the last of us, , games, last gen, must play, cannot miss

Every month, those who subscribe to Sony’s online service are given a few free games via the PlayStation Plus program. For April 2018, it included Mad Max, TrackMania Turbo, In Space we Brawl, Toy Home, 99 Vidas, and Q*Bert Rebooted.

While the official list of free games for May 2018 will likely not be revealed for a week or two, we can take a guess at what possible games Sony might include on the list whether they be AAA, indie, or PSVR titles.

Starting off the list with a larger and more recognized game, we predict May 2018 will include The Last of Us: Remastered from Naughty Dog for a couple reasons. First released for PS3 in 2013, the remastered version of the critically acclaimed game released on PS4 a year later in 2014 to drum up interest for the next gen console and it’s superior processing power.

The Last of Us, being a PlayStation exclusive, is considered a staple of Sony’s exclusive library and is beloved by fans who have been patiently waiting for more news on the sequel first revealed at the PlayStation Experience opening ceremony in 2016. Granting this game to those who have yet to pick up this classic, or are new to Sony consoles in general, would be some incredible fan service and would be sure to make tons of players quite happy and drum up hype going into E3 where we might get more information on The Last of Us 2.

Also, the title often goes on sale and is currently valued at only $19.99 on the PlayStation store. During sales, its price can go as low as six or seven bucks. It’s usually a trend with Sony that the more frequently something goes on sale for short spurts of time, the more likely it is going to make it to PlayStation Plus sometime soon. The Last of Us: Remastered is usually only on sale for special weekend deals or holiday bundles, meaning Sony could simply be trying to get as much revenue as they can from the title before finally offering it for free in their service.

Check out page two were we go over a few possible indie and PSVR inclusions to round out the list next month.
