New Game Plus in God of War

Update: Sony Santa Monica has now confirmed that God of War will receive a new game plus mode on Aug. 20 via a patch.

Most modern games these days offer a New Game Plus option that allows you to replay a game with all of your stats, acquired equipment, and character levels. The latest entry in the God of War series features some light RPG mechanics, and you’ll need to invest quite a bit of time to get your levels up. However, if you’re wondering whether God of War has a New Game Plus feature or not, unfortunately we have some bad news.

The short answer is, no, God of War does not offer New Game Plus. This means that there’s no way to start a new game and still retain all of your levels, equipment, and unlocked skills. However, the good news is that even after you’ve finished the main story, there’s still a ton of activities to take part in. You can hunt corrupted Valkyries, free dragons, and finish up your side missions and Favors. There’s still a lot of content you can sink your time into, so you don’t have to worry about running out of things to do after beating the story because of the lack of a new game plus mode.
