God of War: How to Get Blades of Chaos

How to Get the Blades of Chaos in God of War

Recommended Videos

The Blades of Chaos serve as Kratos’ iconic weapon of choice from past games in the God of War series. If you’re wondering about getting them in the latest PS4 entry, you’ve come to the right place.

Do be warned that we’re about to spoil a rather major reveal that occurs about halfway through God of War’s main story. If you don’t want to know more about it, look away now. If not, read on.

About halfway through God of War’s story, Atreus will fall sick, and Kratos will bring him to Freya. The witch tells him that he needs to go to Helheim to get the bridge keeper’s heart, but warns him that his frost axe won’t be effective against the enemies there. Kratos then decides to return home to “dig up his past.” And by “dig up his past,” he really means going home to retrieve the Blades of Chaos.

Upon exiting Freya’s house, you can take her boat, which leads you directly back to Kratos’ house. There’s a pretty cool encounter that takes place during the boat ride and in the time leading up to Kratos digging up his daggers as well. After finding the Blades of Chaos, the house will be surrounded with a few enemies for you to test your new weapon on. The Blades of Chaos can be sheathed and unsheathed by pressing left on the d-pad. Just like the axe, it also comes with light and heavy runic attacks that can be customized.
