There’s a new overview trailer showing off gameplay from the title, though it’s the Japanese version at present. Invading Snowmads have turned Donkey Kong Island into a frozen tundra, and the winter wonderland is going to be in place unless the Kong family can thaw it all out.

That’s where you come in, as you join Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong and Funky Kong on the adventure as you pad your way through the snow. You get to play through a new mode with surfer Funky Kong as he can use his funky fresh moves and his surfboard to get through even the tougher areas. You can also choose to play co-op with a partner to ice the Snowmads’ nefarious plans.

Check out the video below for a look at the game ahead of its official release next month. If you can’t wait, the game’s already out for the Wii U, so if you still have one sitting around you can play that without having to pony up again for the Switch version, but with the improvements made to the game, it’s definitely worth grabbing.
