Hearthstone: How to Beat the Darkness

How to Beat the Darkness in Hearthstone

Recommended Videos

Hearthstone is a free-to-play online collectible card video game developed by Blizzard. Fans can create their own decks and duel players online or various enemies within the game. That said, one particular enemy that will stand in your way is The Darkness. This creature is one of the roadblocks standing between you and the Candle King card back in the Dungeon Run.

During the fight, The Darkness will spawn a 5/5 Darkspawn to its board during every single turn. You’ll be given three 0-mana spell cards that will wipe away any annoying Darkspawn minions on the field. Since the boss likes to play defensive cards, such as Psychic Scream and Looming Presence (Heroic), you can actually force The Darkness into fatigue by using a deck that continually generates value. Try having a Deathstalker Rexxar in your deck or make sure you have a passive that doubles your health.

You’ll also have to watch out for its Sudden Betrayal, so pay attention to your minions once it plays this card. It might be worth holding back from an attack or two if you’re simply planning on taking down some of The Darkness’ minions. It also has a few Cabal Shadow Priest cards in its deck, so keep this in mind once it gets to 6-mana.

Similarly, you should also watch out for its Mind Control card during the late game. The Darkness can easily take control of one of your bigger minions and turn it against you, so try to think of a countermeasure before it happens. One way to be aggressive against The Darkness is by using the all minions have Stealth Hearthstone passive. That way, you won’t have to worry about cards like Mind Control or Entombed. However, the best way to defeat the boss is simply by outlasting and out-valuing it.
