Yume Nikki: Dream Diary, the 3D remake of the classic RPG Maker 2003 game, is coming to Steam tomorrow, Feb. 23. Before it hits PC, however, Kadokawa Corporation wants to terrify you once more with a new trailer called “Now, Wake Up.”
The trippy trailer is cut with a generous amount of footage to pore over, and you can see how unsettling the game is about to be when we can finally pore over it in full. There’s still little or nothing out there about what to expect from the game beyond its new look, as well as the fact that there are brand new elements and things we never saw before in the original 2D Yume Nikki before. Creator Kikiyama is working on the project and bringing some of their older creations to fruition.
Yume Nikki: Dream Diary will debut on PC via Steam and Playism in both English and Japanese tomorrow for $19.99. If you need to be scared on a budget, this would make for a nice winter pick. It looks like it’s going to really work that “new and unexpected” angle, which is something fans are undoubtedly excited for. In the meantime, check out the final trailer before launch below.
