Metal Gear Survive: Is There a Single Player Campaign?

Is There a Single Player Campaign in Metal Gear Survive?

Recommended Videos

With the always-online requirements and recent betas, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Metal Gear Survive is a multiplayer game that doesn’t feature a single player campaign. However, although it may not be the focus, there is a single player to play through.

Like the last core Metal Gear game, The Phantom Pain, Survive is mission based. It sees you take on the role of a survivor of the attack on Mother Base who is transported via wormhole to an alternate reality over-run by zombies. You will need to fight to survive by gathering resources, building up your base, killing the attackers, and rescuing fellow survivors. Once you’re relatively safe, you’ll assign tasks to the other survivors, scavenge items to further protect yourself, and grow items to stay healthy. There will also be a story surrounding all the action, but we do not know a lot about it yet. The focus will inevitably be on the online functionality and co-op play, however.

That is all you need to know about Metal Gear Survive’s single player before you start playing. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
