Metal Gear Survive brings the beloved series back to modern consoles, but this time with a bit of a twist. Taking place in an alternate timeline, Metal Gear Survive tasks players with trying to survive in a strange new alternate reality that’s populated by crystalline zombies. Players will need to construct defenses at their bases and fend off the zombies hordes, all while trying to collect resources and supplies to do just what the title implies, survive. Seeing as Metal Gear Survive is built on the same engine as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the Fox Engine, fans will no doubt be wondering if they can expect PS4 Pro support as well.
The good news is that Survive will indeed have Pro support, but there’s a bit of a caveat. Digital Foundry ran tests on the game’s beta in January and found that with the PS4 Pro Survive runs in 1440p resolution, but the framerate and performance takes a bit of a hit. If you set the game to 1080p resolution, however, it’ll run much smoother. Keep in mind of course that these findings come from the beta, so there’s a good possibility that the final release of the game or a later patch could change it. We’ll make sure to update this article if that happens.
