New Overwatch PTR Patch Nerfs Mercy Yet Again

Back to square one.

It’s tweaking time once again on the Overwatch PTR servers, and both Mercy and Junkrat have gotten some slight changes. Principal Designer Geoff Goodman took to the official forums to explain these tests, with Junkrat’s Concussion Mine now dealing less damage to “targets farther away from the explosion’s center.” While this might make him a bit less powerful, he still has access to his two mines.

Overwatch hero Mercy, on the other hand, is still getting nerfed as Valkryie has gotten a whole slew of tweaks. First off, the ability only lasts 15 seconds instead of the original 20. Moreover, activating it does not grant an additional Resurrect charge, and the 1.75-second cast time will still apply when in Valkyrie. The speed boost she also receives for Guardian Angel during her ultimate has been decreased by 50 percent.

The Support hero has been quite the popular pick since her initial rework last year, and it seems Blizzard is still trying to find the perfect way to balance her. That said, these changes are still in the Overwatch PTR and subject to change at any time.
