How to Fix Failed to Initialize Network Error in Dragon Ball FighterZ Beta

Update: For the most part, players should now find that the ‘Failed to Initialize Network’ error has now been resolved. Should you come across this issue, try the steps below. Please note, though, that Bandai Namco has since resolved the issue as best as possible on its end.

Dragon Ball Z fans can finally get a taste of the 3 vs. 3 action that makes up Dragon Ball FighterZ. The beta is currently live (though for exactly how much longer remains to be seen), and provides players with a selection of game modes and iconic characters to put to the test. Unfortunately, the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta has been hit with a ‘Failed to Initialize Network’ error that has prevented some players from logging in altogether. Here’s what you need to know to try and fix the issue.

First off, it’s worth noting that while you can continue to simply repeat logging into the server from the main menu screen, this isn’t likely to fix the problem. What you’re better off doing if you meet the ‘Failed to Initialize Network’ error in the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta is to close the app down completely and load it back up. This is an issue caused by the client being unable to communicate with the server, so by closing and reopening the app, you’re forcing it to try and reestablish an entirely new connection, rather than just retrying the same one over and over.

What’s most important to note regarding this issue, however, is that this is likely something on Bandai Namco and Arc System Works’ end that can’t be definitively resolved on the player’s end. As such, it’s just a case of constantly checking in on the Bandai Namco Twitter account and seeing if anything changes. Due to the amount of time lost that fans could have been trying out the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta thanks to the ‘Failed to Initialize Network’ error, Bandai Namco has mentioned that the beta could be extended. Details have yet to be shared, so the exact time the beta will end remains to be seen.
