The Game Awards 2017 Will Reveal Two “Brand-New Game Worlds”

“It becomes a sport to guess which ones they will be.”

Fans don’t have to wait long for Geoff Keighley’s annual Game Awards this year. Speaking to publication Venture Beat earlier today, however, the host and organizer behind the event revealed a little more as to what would-be viewers have to expect for the show tomorrow night.

Specifically, Keighley mentions that two brand-new, never-before-seen game worlds will be showcased live at the celebration. His full quote is as follows: “At least two games are brand-new game worlds that no one has ever seen before. It becomes a sport to guess which ones they will be.”

The nature of these two brand new worlds remains to be seen, though it doesn’t necessarily indicate that two entirely new games will be shown off. It could simply suggest that worlds in the form of maps or expansions will serve as one of the highlights of The Game Awards tomorrow.

For those that haven’t been keeping up to date with the award show as of late, it was recently revealed that Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima will be a presenter at the event. What the esteemed video game director has up his sleeves remains anyone’s guess, though some have been quick to assume that a new trailer for the PlayStation 4 exclusive title Death Stranding will be shown off.

It’s anyone’s guess as to how The Game Awards will pan out this year, though Geoff Keighley has gone on the record to say that this year’s iteration will contain the most surprises so far. Fingers crossed that it lives up to the hype.
