Big Bad Wolf’s The Council Takes on Episodic Narratives This February

Use Social Influence to navigate dangerous waters.

Focus Home Interactive’s latest project is The Council, developed by Big Bad Wolf and headed to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Like Telltale Games’ ilk, it’s an episodic narrative adventure game that comprises five episodes and it’s planned for release in February 2018.

The story begins back in 1793, where you’ll become secret society member Louis de Richet, who’s joined by folks like George Washington and Napoleon Bonaparte on an enormous private island. Richet’s mother is missing, and you’ve got to navigate a bizarre gathering to figure out who’s behind her disappearance and what to do next.

You’ll use the game’s Social Influence system to manipulate characters, have telling conversations with them, and curry their favor all in a bid to get them to do what you need. You’ll be rewarded for skillfully navigating this system, and all of Richet’s skills can be altered to fit your play style. There are 15 of them to choose from, which you can tailor to how you want to play as well as direct the flow of conversations.

If that sounds like something you’d like to see more of, you can check out the trailer below to see it in action. We could always use more adventure games, after all.
