An interesting take on typical JRPGs.
The Longest 5 Minutes from NIS has finally gotten a release date, and will launch on February 13 for Nintendo Switch and PS Vita, and for PC via Steam worldwide. Europe will be getting the Switch and Vita version on February 16.
The Longest 5 Minutes is a very unique take on the JRPG, taking place entirely in the last five minutes of the final boss battle in the game. The hero of the game suddenly loses his memory, and you’ll need to dive back through your adventure to remember everything, including combat skills and finishing moves. Here’s a description of the game from NIS America, along with the new trailer released today down below.
“Originally developed by Nippon Ichi Software and Syupro-DX and releasing today for the PS Vita in Japan, The Longest Five Minutes will take you inside the mind of a hero during his final encounter with an epic and evil Overlord. As the story unfolds, the conversations you have with your party and the Overlord will unlock memories of the hero’s journey. Each memory plays out in classic 8-bit RPG style, and the outcome of those memories affect your party in their final battle.”
A Limited Edition will be available for the Switch exclusively through the NIS America online store. It comes with a physical copy of the game, a two-disc soundtrack and art book, four lapel pin set, and the collector’s box. The package will run you $54.99.
