A brand new single player focused mode.
During their Blizzcon opening ceremonies Blizzard officially announced the next expansion for Hearthstone, Kobolds & Catacombs. The expansion was shown off with a new trailer, and as you might expect it revolves around, well, exploring catacombs and fighting Kobolds.
During their presentation Blizzard said this expansion was a “love letter” to the classic dungeon crawling RPG experience. The stage demonstration walked us through a dungeon, with multiple choices on routes presented to the audience. During the adventure a few new cards were shown off including the “Dragon Soul,” one of the first legendary weapons featured in Hearthstone. There will be nine legendary weapons available in Kobolds & Catacombs, one for each class.
On top of the new expansion Blizzard also announced a brand new single player mode for their popular card game called Dungeon Run. This mode is all about fighting bosses and running through a gauntlet. Luckily, the mode is entirely free and separate from the main Hearthstone experience.
Kobolds & Catacombs will hit sometime in December and add 135 new cards onto the game. We’ll make sure to update you as more info on Dungeon Run becomes available.
