Everyone’s favorite plumber is back once more in Super Mario Odyssey. This time, he’s tasked with collecting Power Moons that are scattered all over a number of different kingdoms. Of course, Mario’s got plenty of exotic abilities to help him collect them all, but let’s not forget about some more simple abilities, too. Here’s what you need to roll in Super Mario Odyssey.

In order to pull off this nifty move, you’ll need to hold the ZL button and press Y or X. Doing so will have Mario roll, and you can use the left analog stick to guide him around whichever kingdom you’re currently exploring in Super Mario Odyssey.

You can also roll from a long jump or dive by holding ZL just as Mario lands on the ground. At least he’s softening his fall… right?

That’s all you need to know to roll in Super Mario Odyssey. If you’re looking for more tips, tricks, and guides on anything to do with the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
