Stardew Valley is a farming simulator game that lets you enjoy plenty of activities like fishing, mining, foraging, and monster slaying. You’ll collect plenty of items as you progress through the game. Thankfully, same items will stack, saving plenty of space in your bag. That said, there will be times when you only want to take a certain amount of items from your pile.
Here’s how you can split item stacks depending on which version of Stardew Valley you’re playing:
- PC – Use the right click on the stack to pull one item. If you want half of the pile, press shift and right click
- PS4 – Press square on the stack to pull one item
- Xbox One – Press X on the stack to pull one item
- Nintendo Switch – Press Y on the stack to pull one item
You can keep pressing the button to keep grabbing more items from the pile. Split stacking is extremely useful if most of your items are already tucked away in chests. You won’t have to pull out your whole supply if you’re planning to upgrade your house or create new farm materials.
