Overwatch’s cyborg ninja Genji is getting a Figma statuette, and pre-orders for the figurine are available right now via Blizzard’s official online store. The popular character is the second to receive the treatment, as a Tracer Figma was up for pre-order this past June.
Whereas the Tracer figure ran for $70, the Genji one will cost $80. The Figma’s actual release date is set for the end of Q2 2018, so don’t get your hopes up that you’ll be getting it in time for the holiday festivities. Such is a similar case with the Tracer Figma, who’s Q4 2017 release still hasn’t gotten a concrete date as of the time of this writing.
The Genji figure is just over 6 inches tall and is built with malleable joints, allowing fans to create whatever scenes come to their imagination. The ninja comes with two weapons, a katana and a wakizashi, and includes “shuriken effect parts that make use of a translucent material.” As seen in the gallery below, the figure is very detailed and preserves the character’s in-game model.
Figma collectibles come by way of Good Smile Company, the manufacturer of many hobby items including the also popular Nendoroid line of figures. Though there’s no Genji Nendoroid yet, Tracer is currently available for purchase for $50 and Mei and Mercy are available for pre-order. Here’s hoping that Blizzard’s partnership with Good Smile Company will yield many more collectible figures like this in the future.
For fans of the game proper, Overwatch recently unveiled its Halloween Terror event across all platforms, bringing a hefty set of new goodies to collect and two new PvE game modes.
