Shadow of the Colossus Looks Gorgeous, and it has a Release Date
The 5 Biggest Announcements from Sony’s Paris Games Week 2017 Conference
Shadow of the Colossus Remake was absolutely one of E3 2017’s big surprises. The reception to a graphically enhanced and presumably modernized (with respect to controls) version of Shadow of the Colossus has been met with triumphant cheers of excitement. And as this latest trailer demonstrated, with pretty good reason, too: Ueda’s masterpiece looks utterly gorgeous and even more awe-inspiring running on PS4. More than ever, PlayStation fans will be desperate to get their hands on a copy. Luckily, as it turns out, we won’t have long to wait, because although a release date for the game didn’t pop during the on-stage trailer, it was later confirmed that Shadow of the Colossus Remake is inbound early next year, Feb. 6.
In other related news, PS4 Pro owners will also have the option to play the game at either 30 frames-per-second in 4K resolution or 60 in 1080p. Considering the original game struggled to maintain 30 frames-per-second running in standard definition, that’s likely to prove a pretty big upgrade.
