Ghost Recon: Wildlands Receives Free Competitive Multiplayer Mode on October 10

The competitive multiplayer mode Ghost War is coming to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands in a free update for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Oct. 10.

The PvP mode was announced earlier this year as part of the game’s post-launch plans, with an open beta that ran from Sept. 21-25. Ubisoft announced the 4v4 team deathmatch mode will launch with eight maps and 12 classes with different abilities and weapons. Check out three of the classes – Assassin, Diversionist, and Sentinel – in the video below.

Team deathmatch is the only confirmed match type for Ghost War at launch, but more content is scheduled to follow. According to Ubisoft, players should “expect more classes, more maps, and even new modes to be added in the future.”

The free update drops Oct. 10 for all platforms to all players to own the base game. A five-hour trial of Ghost Recon: Wildlands is currently available for Xbox One and PS4 players, and includes all content except for the Narco Road and Fallen Ghosts add-ons included in the season pass.
