Fortnite Battle Royale: Does it Have Cross-Play?

Is There Cross-Play in Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite Battle Royale is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, offering up some free-to-play action that’s very similar to that seen in PUBG. Players must grab all of the gear they can carry and be the lone survivor at the end of the action. Of course, with this being a free-to-play multiplayer title, many players will be hoping that it has cross-play functionality.

Unfortunately, the game doesn’t have cross-play functionality. That means if you want to play with your friends on Xbox One, you’ll need an Xbox One, and the same again for PS4. This was noted in the FAQ over on the forums.

Is Fortnite Battle Royale Cross-Play?
No. There is no cross-play in Fortnite Battle Royale. There is cross-progression between PC and PS4.

You’ll need to link your Epic Games ID to your PS4 account in order to enable cross-progression.

There is, however, cross-progression between PC and PS4, so if you’ve got both platforms and want to level up the same character across both platforms, you can do. Just make sure you log in with the same Epic Games ID and follow the instructions in the link above.
