9: Gunslinger Hunter
Destiny 2 Best PvE Classes, Ranked
Ah, the Gunslinger. This subclass is reminiscent of a wild west hero, relying on little more than its wits and trusty sidearm to deal justice throughout the galaxy. What’s great about the Gunslinger is that when it comes to dealing a lot of damage to a single enemy, you can’t really find a better option, especially if you happen to have the Celestial Nighthawk exotic helmet.
The new perks available to the class do help bring it strongly into 2017, though. Six-Shooter (found under the Way of the Outlaw tree) lets you get off six shots. Plus you get Chains of Woe and a perk called Deadshot which increases your ability to land shots with Golden Gun. The Way of the Sharpshooter focuses more on rewarding players for precision hits and kills. This is definitely a subclass that’s geared more towards highly-skilled players, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as in the right hands this is an absolute beast.
Unfortunately, for anything other than slaying majors and staggering a boss, there isn’t much utility for this class in a fireteam in any of the PvE activities. At least none that make it a better option over the others.
