During CD Projekt’s financial presentation held for investors yesterday, the Polish firm revealed its current financial situation and provided a few interesting tidbits on some of its upcoming projects, including Cyberpunk 2077.
For the first half of the year, the company earned a net profit of 118.5 million PLN, or $33 million, beating expectations by 21.5 percent. The Witcher series drove most of this revenue, as GOG was only responsible for around $3.5 million in net profit. Currently, CD Projekt’s worth stands at $2.2 billion.
Speaking on behalf of The Witcher specifically, CD Projekt RED President and Joint CEO Adam Kiciński explained that the latest entry in the series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is still “selling phenomenally well.” He added that a 4K update for PlayStation 4 Pro users will be available “in just a few days” and that the Xbox One X version will come “by the end of the year.”
The man also spoke about the highly anticipated next big game from the studio, Cyberpunk 2077. He stated that the team is working “very intensively” on the game and that the developers “will be able to unveil what they have achieved” one day. As to when that would happen, he was unclear. He did go on further to say that over 300 people are working on the game, though.
CD Projekt RED released a video celebrating The Witcher franchise earlier this week, thanking fans for helping make the game arguably one of the best titles this console generation.
