ARK Survival Evolved: How to Craft

How to Craft in ARK: Survival Evolved

Recommended Videos

As the name suggests, ARK: Survival Evolved is a game all about survival and if you want to do that, you’ll need to know how to craft. The good news is that crafting in this game is pretty easy as long as you know what you’re doing. You can even multitask by crafting and continuing to explore at the same time, but keep in mind that your movement speed will be limited.

To get started, you’ll need to go into your inventory. Once you enter your inventory you will notice two labeled menu options above all the items listed here — Inventory Items and Craftables. Select Craftables and this will give you an organized list of all the engrams, which are basically blueprints for different items, you have earned so far. Keep in mind that having the engram doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to make that item. You will also need the right amount of engram points and, of course, all the resources needed to craft that particular item. If it turns out you came prepared with the right amount of engram points and all your crafting ingredients, then you’ve already accomplished the hardest part of this entire process.

The next step is to simply select the engram for the item you want to make and select “Craft.” This will craft only one of the selected item but you can craft more if you wish. You will also notice a “Craft All” option that will be followed by a number. This number indicates how many of the item you will be able to make with the resources that you currently have.

ARK: Survival Evolved also gives you the option to make multiple different items at one time as well. You can select multiple engrams before selecting “Craft.” If you have enough resources for all the engrams you selected, you will be able to craft them all at once. You can select up to five engrams at any one time.

While this pretty much covers the basics of crafting, keep in mind that it can get a little more complex as you start using crafting stations. Crafting stations are where you will want to go if you need to craft in bulk or speed up the crafting process by using a method other than the Focal Chili recipe.
