XCOM 2 War of the Chosen: How to Get Ability Points

How to Get Ability Points in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen

Recommended Videos

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen introduces Ability Points, which can be used to level up the special units also introduced. They are a way of rewarding players that use smart tactics on the battlefield. As such, there are different ways to use your soldiers that can then net you these points for yourself.

Ambush Kill – We got this when killing an enemy when they didn’t know I was there and was concealed. This can easily be done at the beginning of a mission.

Flanking Shot – We got this one from moving to a location where we had a clear shot of the enemy and taking them down, rather than roughing through the cover.

Height Advantage Shot – And finally we got this one when we killed an enemy from higher ground. Easy to get with a Sharpshooter!

Additionally, you can get ability points in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen with specific Covert Actions that help you do this. The ones that give Combat Intelligence as well as those that say “Gain Ability Points” are the ones to roll with in this case.

That’s all there is to Ability Points! As we find more and more of the strategies to accumulate these in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, we’ll update the post.
