Sonic Mania: How Long It Is and How Many Zones

Recommended Videos

Sonic Mania is a fantastic return to form for Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s a game that emulates the Genesis classics and was very well received here at Twinfinite. Like any Sonic game worth its salt, it’s going to have a long list of memorable zones and acts. In Sonic Mania the zones are primarily based on restructured/remastered version of older, classic ones from games like the original Sonic, 2, 3, and 3&K. In addition to those zones, there are five brand new ones sprinkled in.

This guide will tell you how many zones there are, and how long it is, just keep in mind that the names may be considered spoilers to some, so if you don’t want to know what the zones are don’t read below, just know that there are technically 13 in total.

As far as the game’s length, it will depend heavily on how good you are. You could speed through it and be done in an hour or two or even less. Or if you take your time, it will probably be something like three to five hours, per character (total of four). That doesn’t include however going for all of the Chaos Emeralds and Medallions which will certainly tack on some extra time, depending on how good (or not good) you are at those special stages. Also, once you’re done, you can play Time Attack mode and compare your times to others online.

Finally, if you have friends to play with locally, you can take part in a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 style split screen competitive mode.
