Nintendo to Host Mario and Metroid Gameplay Streams at Gamescom

Which game are you more excited for?

Nintendo has revealed plans to livestream two of its biggest holiday 2017 games during the annual Gamescom event in Colonge, Germany from August 22 — 26. Fans can tune on August 23 at 9 a.m. EST for a Super Mario Odyssey gameplay stream and on August 24 at 6 a.m. EST for a Metroid: Samus Returns gameplay stream.

Super Mario Odyssey Producer Yoshiaki Koizumi will offer fans at home “a fresh look” at gameplay during the stream. Meanwhile, attendees will get the chance to go hands on with Odyssey’s Metroid Kingdom and Sand Kingdom levels.

Metroid: Samus Returns Producer Yoshio Sakamoto and José Luis Márquez, creative director at co-developer MercurySteam, will showcase the game during its own livestream. Samus Returns will also be playable Gamescom by attendees.

Nintendo is also planning live presentations for other previously announced games like Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Fire Emblem Warriors will be playable along with Pokkén Tournament DX, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, Monster Hunter Stories, and several previously released titles.

Super Mario Odyssey releases for Nintendo Switch on October 27. Metroid: Samus Returns will arrive on the 3DS on September 15 alongside a new Samus-themed 3DS XL.
