Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Is There Multiplayer?

Is There Multiplayer in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Recommended Videos

Nintendo and Ubisoft’s collaborative effort is now available on Nintendo Switch. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle’s combat isn’t too far from the turn-based strategic combat at the heart of the XCOM titles, and so many players are wondering if there’s a multiplayer option in the game for some versus or co-op fun.

Well, there’s some good news and bad news. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle does have co-op multiplayer, but there is no versus multiplayer mode to be found. Furthermore, the game’s co-op mode is separate from the single-player experience that makes up a bulk of the game.

To play the co-op mode, you’ll first need to wait until the Buddy Dome has been constructed by Peach’s castle. Here, you’ll be able to pair your Joy-Cons and start playing with a friend. Each campaign in Kingdom Battle’s Buddy Dome has a few challenges for you and a friend to complete in multiplayer with each player controlling two characters.

Each time you clear a world in the single-player section of the game, you’ll unlock another co-op campaign to complete with a friend. And once these have been cleared, you’ll also unlock a Hard Mode to really test your skills as a team.
