Is Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Coming to Wii U?

Ubisoft and Nintendo’s collaborative effort is almost upon us. The Mushroom Kingdom and the Rabbids have come together to provide players with a challenging, turn-based strategy game, not too dissimilar to XCOM. While the idea of a Mario and Rabbids crossover was scoffed at by many when it was first rumored, the game has since caught many fans’ eyes. As such, some fans may be wondering if Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is coming to the Wii U.

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but we wouldn’t count on the game coming to the Wii U. Nintendo has officially ended production of the system worldwide, and as such, is focusing its home console efforts on the Switch. As a result, it’s highly unlikely that Nintendo would release the title on another platform, instead opting to add another exclusive to the Switch’s library.

Furthermore, neither Nintendo or Ubisoft has hinted at the idea that Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle could be coming to the Wii U. Despite the slight similarities in the design and control input between the Wii U and Switch, it’s clear that the older system is being left out on this one.
