Injustice 2 Black Manta

Injustice 2’s Black Manta Gameplay Trailer Shows Supervillain’s Deadly Moves

New DLC character is overpowered?

Developer NeatherRealm Studios has revealed the first Injustice 2 Black Manta gameplay video, which gives fans a good glimpse of the moveset and abilities of Aquaman’s nemesis.

Based on the video, Black Manta is a pretty well-rounded fighter, carrying mid-range to long-range abilities as well as a low attack beam that can be meter-burned. He also has an ability that hits an opponent’s backside, which will surely be a nuisance to those still unable to block Supergirl’s Space Port move.  Aside from having neat launchers to setup some lengthy combos, he can also fly in the air using his rocket boosters.

Black Manta’s super move isn’t as flashy compared to other characters, but he gets the job done with pure brutality. His villainous outro, which looks similar to the ones by Final Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth and other baddies, also neatly changes the backdrop for that badass feel.

Black Manta is one of the three characters included in the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2. Black Manta is scheduled to launch sometime in September, while Hellboy and Raiden have yet to receive a launch window. If Fighter Pack 2 follows the same release pattern of the first Fighter Pack, the two characters will likely be spread through October to November.

Only three characters remain unannounced after the reveal of Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2. Speculations are rife that it may have Enchantress and the Atom due to the silhouette leak, which clearly outlined the silhouettes of both characters. With the surprise guest appearance of Hellboy in Fighter Pack 2, fans could be in a treat for the third and final Fighter Pack.
