Age of Empires IV Officially Announced for PC, Made by Dawn of War Devs

A classic series comes back.

RTS fans have a big announcement to be excited about today, as the classic strategy series Age of Empires will finally be returning with a brand new entry. During their Age of Empires stream at Gamescom 2017, Microsoft rounded things out by announcing Age of Empires IV is in the works.

Although we didn’t receive any information on the upcoming title, a short artistic trailer was shown for the announcement. In it we see history advance through different ages like Roman times, the Age of Piracy, the American Revolution, and Feudal Japan. At this point we don’t know what time periods will appear in the game, but you can bet there’ll be plenty of civilizations and armies to choose from just like in past games. Make sure to watch the full trailer down below. The new title is developed by Relic Entertainment, known for their other prominent RTS series Company of Heroes of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.

Age of Empires IV currently doesn’t have a release date or window, but it is currently in production for PC.
